Default Being On The Fence

Coming into recovery is very much like throwing of a switch, some only need to do this once, for the rest it's more like flicking the switch back and forth. While we're doing that during this period of time what works best is two things. First is to set a date for this period of time to end, one that's commonly used is 90 days. Second during this time we postpone any decision about us joining recovery until after we've reached the end of that time period, then we decide . Until then we allow ourselves to rock back and forth about joining recovery. This keeps us safe from making the much dreaded mistake of a knee jerk reaction about recovery that so many of us have made. If we do these two things we may very well be able to save our own life, and to help ourselves, by allowing ourselves some time before we have to make our decision about joining recovery.
