Default His Peace

His Peace

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. (Col 3:15)

Often I want direction because I'm anxious or I direct myself in selfishness. But this is a sweet command: Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts. (see Col 3:15)

The word 'rule' means to umpire, surrendering to let his peace guide us in his Spirit. We have a journey ahead. And Christian, the Prince of Peace is teaching us.

You and I stumble and fall at times, but the Lord is faithful. May we grow to surrender and wait upon his peace more and more. Let's pray.

Lord Jesus, thank-you for your gentle mercy, for your gentle care and patience. Show us again the way of peace.

Help us to trust you and wait for your peace. Teach us to stand on your promise instead of pushing on in anxiety or selfishness. You are our peace and our life. Thank you for your faithful care. Amen

Today's very great and precious promise

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. (Joh 14:27)

We have God's Word on it.
